Invited to return to Yale, Dr. Couch became an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Yale Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Yale School of Medicine. When I decided to evaluate LASIK, I went to see Dr. Couch and now I can see the Kansas City Skyline out of my office window. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else, but Dr. Couch.
An educator on a national level, Dr. Couch has taught surgical courses in New York, Dallas, San Francisco, Chicago, Phoenix, Miami, and New Orleans. He was one of the surgeons in a national study group that provided data on radial keratotomy.

The author of numerous articles, Dr. Couch has also written a chapter in one of the most widely used refractive textbooks. As an invited lecturer, he has delivered papers throughout the country and was the first American author ever to be invited to address the European Corneal Congress at Cambridge University, England. Dr. Couch's new book on LASIK for patients is now available. His co-author is a nationally recognized expert on LASIK and was a prior student of Dr. Couch's at Yale.
